BUTEX’s Bishal and BUFT’s Ridoy awarded Innovation Black Belt in Apparel Merchandising and Fabric Technology

At the TTH 8.0 post-award reception ceremony organized by the BUFT Textile Club, Md. Abdullah Al Bishal from Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) and Noor-E-Nobi (Ridoy) from BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) were celebrated for achieving the prestigious Innovation Black Belt certifications in Apparel Marketing & Merchandising and Fabric Technology, respectively.
Both students completed their Innovation Black Belt program under the guidance of Engr. Rafat Hasan Chowdhury, Director of Huetech Yarn Limited and a industry expert with over 13 years of experience in denim development and management. Engr. Rafat’s expertise and mentorship provided valuable insights that contributed to the students' successful projects.

Md. Abdullah Al Bishal, who earned an A+ grade, and specialized in Apparel Marketing & Merchandising, completed a project at Superior Apparels Ltd. where he developed a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for an export-oriented knit garment factory. His project leveraged extensive training in Denim Development, Product Development, Apparel Supply Chain Management, and International Export-Import, among other areas.

Noor-E-Nobi (Ridoy) from BUFT earned an A grade for his work in Fabric Technology, developing an SOP tailored for Moshharaf Spinning Mills (Pvt) Limited. His training, similar to Bishal’s, enabled him to address challenges in textile spinning with innovative solutions.
The certificate handover ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including BUFT Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, ASM Tareq Amin, CEO & Founder of Textile Today Innovation Hub, Engr. Shamim Rahman, Director at Southwest Composite Ltd., Rahat Ullah Rashed, Head of Technical Support, Taiwan Persotex Corporation, Nuruzzaman, CEO, LN Dye Chrome Ltd. and Sanjoy Kumar Saha, AGM of Textile Today, showcasing industry support for emerging talent.

About Innovation Black Belt
The Innovation Black Belt program, led by Textile Today Innovation Hub, is designed to develop industry professionals into skilled innovators who can tackle real-world challenges in the textile and apparel sector. Participants complete 128 hours of intensive training and 128 hours of hands-on problem-solving with guidance from a dedicated Innovation Team, including an Industry Expert, an Industry Supervisor, and an Academic Supervisor. Participants gain practical experience transforming industry practices through this structured approach, equipping them to drive meaningful change and sustainable growth in their field.
